About the event

Dunollie's engaging community programme, Dunollie Links, is proud to present its very first small local conference, perfect for anyone with an interest in Argyll's local history.

The conference programme will include the following:

Friday 15th February 7.00 pm to 9.30 pm

Talks Include:

"Place Names of Argyll" with Dr. Alasdair C. Whyte

"Historic Weapons, Swords & Battles in Argyll" with Paul MacDonald

Includes Object & Archive display from Dunollie Museum, Castle & Grounds, Oban High School Pathways Project as well as hot beverages with Castle Dessert Tasting Table.

Saturday 16th February 9.30 am to 4 pm

Talks Include:

"Castles in Argyll - Past & Future Excavations" with Roddy Regan

"MacDougall Castle Textiles" with Catherine Gillies

"Castles of Lismore" with Robert Hay

"The Role of the Ancient Bard in Scottish Clans" with Griogair Labhruidh

Lunch also provided.

Late Afternoon:

An immersive field visit and tour of Dunollie Museum, Castle and Grounds, accompanied by some traditional Scottish tunes on the pipes.

Please note, the field trip to Dunollie will include a visit to the Castle Ruin. Access to the ruin is fairly steep and therefore relative fitness required.
