About the event

Step into Dunollie's walled garden which has long remained closed to the public and find out more about the fantastic projets taking part there.

Today it is part of Hope kitchen, a local charity that serves Oban, Lorn and the Isles and comprises of a new community hub and cafe and green shoots community garden, and more recently re_store and Rescue food initiative.  Greenshoots started in 2018 at Glencruittan walled garden and has been relocating to Dunollie's walled Garden since november 2023.   The garden had not been managed for several decades and presented itself as a new challenge to tackle.

The Greenshoots team, mostly volunteers have since turned it into this productive community space for people to come together and share skills and enjoy nature. Current projects include building a yurt platform, an outdoor kitchen and also fundraising for a polycrub, sustainable polycarbonate tunnel that can withstand high winds, all made out of recycled materials.

Entry is free and all are welcome but any donations to Hope Kitchen and Greenshoots would be greatly appreciated.
